Let’s talk about: Make-Up.

Let’s talk about make-up. As a girl I always loved to try my mums make-up. To keep me quiet she gave me her make up and allowed me to make her prettier. Of course she ended up looking like a make-up monster. When I was fourteen I was allowed to use make-up, but only mascara, eyeshadow and powder. I used to go to the local HEMA store and buy a new stuff. Now, many years later, I get my make-up mostly from Lancome and L’oreal Paris. Lancome’s Teint Miracle and Hypnose mascara are the only products from Lancome that I use on daily basis. I love the light structure of Teint Miracle, it is easy to apply and feels like you have nothing on your skin. Hypnose mascara is a favorite as well. It gives the right volume, lengthens properly and adds a little drama 😉

From L’Oreal Paris I almost use everything. I recently bought a lipstick form the Color Riche line and I’m definitely in love with it. It’s just the right red that I was looking for. I also use the eyeshadows from Color Riche Smoky Die for Chocolate 302 and Smoky Place Vendome 306 for a natural smokey eye effect. Super Liner perfect Slim from L’Oreal Paris is the perfect liner for everyday use as well. My favorite nail polish colors from L’Oreal Paris Color Riche are Scarlet Vamp 404, Jolie Brunette 110 and topcoat Goldleaf 920.

I don’t like to buy only expensive make up just because it is cool to have them, like a whole collection of MAC Lipsticks. You have to be able to play and experiment with it and I woundn’t waste my expensive make-up just to practice smokey eye effect.  My make-up varies between affordable brands like GOSH and L’Oreal and expensive brands like Lancome, Chanel, Lancaster & Guerlain.

What are your favorite make-up brands and which one is the most important to you that you just can’t live without?

Wishlist: Zara

Hey There!

As some of you have noticed, ZARA has their new collection online! Since I’m a super fan of their clothes and 80% of my closet contains ZARA items, I have selected four items from the new collection which I HAVE to buy!

Merci Marc!

After 16 years at the helm of Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs showed his last collection for the French fashion house Wednesday morning. It was “for the showgirl in all of us,” it said in the notes, a moving depiction of the Paris of our dreams on the last day of Paris Fashion Week.

Marc is one of my favorite designers of our time and I’ll sure miss his collections for Louis Vuitton! Thank you Marc for the best shows!

Karlie vs. Daft Punk

After posing for Saint Laurent Paris and a mega hit with Pharrel Williams, Daft Punk even appears in the American Vogue. The two band members are posing with no one less than Victoria’s Secret Angel Karlie Kloss. The Topmodel appears with a striking hairstyle, a straight bob with bangs. Daft Punk members are wearing a black tuxedo and their iconic, futuristic helmets.

Iris van Herpen @ Paris Haute Couture A/W 2013

Ever since I’ve seen her designs, I’m always looking forward to her next shows. Iris van Herpen showed us again a magnificant collection  at Paris Haute Couture A/W 2013.

The subject of this show was”Forces of nature”, with the aim of finding a fine balance between craftmanship and innovation. The 11 looks from the brand new Beyond Wilderness couture collection were therefore ranged from wearable pieces into true works of art, just as we are used from Iris Van Herpen. The well-known large, rounded shoulders, the skeleton motif and the corset shapes made their appearance again, but this time Van Herpen showed some Asian influences, like the long assymetrical kimono dress with high slit covered with pretty embroideries.

Serena.

Serena Vanderwoodsen, a girl to die for. Long legs, beautiful blonde hair, great smile and always stylish. As soon as I started to watch Gossip Girl, I was stunned by her(Blake Lively’s) appearance! Even if she’d wear a potato sack, she’d still look gorgeous! I picked the outfits of Serena which I really loved ( and the ones that I could find on the internet) for you. Let me know which one you love the most!

Say Yes To The Dress!

Lately I’ve been watching Say Yes To The Dress. Different brides with different wishes ending up with totally different gowns than they’d imagined. I wasn’t really that girl who always dreamt about her wedding day and her bridal. Yet, after watching almost all seasons of Say Yes To The Dress, I started to wonder, what will my wedding day will be like. What kind of a gown will I be wearing. And I have to tell you, it’s very hard to choose a gown, because there are too many stunning bridals. To make it a lot easier for me( obviously for in the future), I made a list of what kind of dress I would like to wear on which location.

Style.

I’m not very into a traditional gown. I love to stand out without having to wear a ball gown. I love minimalistic, elegant, yet sexy gowns. I’m willing to take a risk with a dress. I’m afraid that older people who’ll attend my wedding, will be shocked and that nsome people will find my dress boring or not very wedding-ish. My sister responded on every dress that I loved, that I could wear it to another party or whatever. That it wasn’t very bride-ish. But in the end, all that counts is that you love the dress and feel comfortable in it. It is your day, so you don’t have to care what others think. Just like the dress not being traditional, I want the location to be something different than all the weddings I’ve been to, mostly in a restaurant. I would like it to be outdoors. On the beach, or a boat, a garden or maybe the rooftop.

The venue.

First of all, before you pick a dress, you have to know what the venue is. The venue has a great influence on the dresses where you can choose from. For instance, if you want to get marry on the beach, it’s not very smart to wear a ball gownish dress with a lot of fuzzle. You should keep it simple and summer-ish. But if you are getting married in a fancy restaurant, you should pick a dress which will make you stand out.

Beach.

Rooftop or a boat

For the rooftop or on a boat you should wear something that won’t be blown away or too thin, because it can get colder.

Garden.

Traditional.

If I ever had to wear a traditonal gown, then it has to be like this one.

All in one?

This dress below, is kind of all in one. It is a mermaid style with ball gown-ish effect and very sexy but still elegant. The only thing is that, the bodice of this dress is too revealing.

What do you think about these dresses? Which one would you pick?
